Police visibility was seen at all the voting stations in Alexandra after the April #TotalShutdown.

May 8 was declared as the official day for the 6th general elections by President Cyril Ramaphosa.

3 April saw the stand still of the township as they took to the street to fight against service delivery and illegal occupying of buildings in the township to name a few.

Alex Pioneer spoke to a young person who walked his friend to vote at 3 square voting station “I’m not voting and that’s because of a lot of injustice we live through in our kasi, I have a house up there in Tsutsumani but I can’t live in it, instead I have to squeeze myself with alex rats in my shack, corruption and lack of jobs are the other reasons i’m not voting” said the young person who loved to remain anonymous.

An IEC official said they didn’t experienced any disruptions and

Alex Pioneer encourages all those who didn’t made their mark to visit their station in the next elections and register to exercise their democratic right and make their say.
