LESABE PRIMARY LEADING IN CHESS

Felicity Mabaso a fourth time chess title holder born and bread in Tamboville in Wattiville. The 13 year old student at Lesabe Primary School came out shining once again at an inter-primary chess competition on the 11 May 2019.

“This victory takes Felicity to represent our district at provincial level tournament”. Said the coach Sibulelo Mali.

The schools that were involved in Wattville were the following: Lesabe primary, Magalelagase primary, Isaack Makau primary and Kgothalang primary school, Added the coach Mr. Mali.  Felicity won the individual competition at the chess competition in the Ekurhuleni region. In 2015 she won the individual play at Gauteng Provincial League Games at the age of 9, and was voted the best player in Ekurhuleni North District in 2017.

Mr.Madlopha , the school principal and Miss Mnguni, the teacher, both agreed that the game is very beneficial to the students who participate as it helps in improving their skills especially in mathematics and socially, they also are very patient and reasonable. Felicity said this is also because they have a good and kind coach who has their interests at heart.

On the 24th of May 2019, she will go and represent Lesabe primary and Ekurhuleni region, at the Gauteng level tournament.
