A 38 year old constable from tsakane police station and his four accomplices known as Hez 62, Nhla 34, Gama 25, and Nkulu 25 years old were arrested at Matla power road in Witbank-Mpumalanga Province.
Kriel police members stopped the police vehicle which was occupied by the five suspects including the constable in full uniform as the driver of the vehicle. The police requested the suspects to come out from the car so they can able search it. Whilst the searching 16 sealed bags contained dagga worth R 480, 000 were seized inside the police vehicle.
The suspects were all arrested at the scene, and were charged with possession of marijuana and expected to appear at Kriel magistrate court 24 March 2020.
Kriel SAPS communications officer confirmed the arrest of the five suspects including the member of the SAPS. The officer warned the members not to take the advantage of the situation (corona virus) in country because the justice would be strongly applied to them.
