The community of number 86-12th ave in Alexandra has been left homeless following a fire that engulfed their shacks on Sunday night.
According to community members a boyfriend was fighting his girlfriend when he decided to burn her shack in hopes she’ll burn in it. The fire left more than 60 people homeless.
The EMS was called and following shortage of water managed to set the fire off. The homeless women and children were housed at a nearby church for the night. The community can contact Ray’s of Hope to donate food, clothing, furniture and building material.
