South Africa mourns the passing of Radio maestro Bob Mabena

South Africa has been left in shock following the passing of the radio legend Bob Mabena at the age of 51.

The news was confirmed on air by MSG group Chairman Given Mkhari on Monday.

“It is with deep grief and pain that we announce that Power 98.7 Breakfast Host, Mr Bob Mabena passed away this afternoon, Monday 10 August 2020, from cardiac arrest.

“The family is coming to terms with his passing and respectfully requests the public to afford them the appropriate space”.

Mabena was the co-host of Power Breakfast alongside Faith Mangope who recently joined the station.

Before joining Power Mabena was hosting breakfast at Kaya FM.

The radio maestro rose to fame through Radio Bophuthatswana (Bop) in the early 90’s. He was famous for also hosting television show alongside Melaine Bala and doing music with Dr Khumalo.
